Clear Up Skin By Cleaning Up Your Diet?
It’s official-My skin is fugsville. My skin is red and itchy, and I’m pretty sure my diet is to blame.
All of you who follow me on a regular basis knows I try to eat right, but ever since I started seeing my boyfriend it’s been difficult. He is not a vegan. He’s not even a vegetarian! My boo is a tried and true meat and potatoes sort of guy, and somehow in the two years we’ve been joined at the hip, chips have found their way onto my counter, ice cream has been delivered into my hands, and I’ve even stolen a bite-or two-of his bacon cheese burger.
I had thought my unhealthy indulgences were sporadic, but when I graze through the pictures in my phone I realize I’m wrong. Oh, and please ignore the giant piece of chewed gum on my dress. I don’t know how it got there!
Let the evidence show that I’ve been having my share of sugary coffee drinks (topped with whipped cream), frozen yogurt with toppings, and FLT’s (I’m not suppose to eat bread). No wonder my skin looks wretched. I need a cleanse, bad! I’ve been obsessed with trying the Ritual Cleanse ever since I read this article by Cat Marnell. Sadly for me, the cleanse cost a whopping $80 bucks per day. If I wanted to do the cleanse for a week I’d be $560 dollars in the hole.
I have good reason to crave this cleanse. It’s 100 percent organic, made from fruit, vegetable, and nut juices, and the people who’ve tried it have reported lots of energy, weight loss, a decreased craving for junk, and…wait for it…gorgeous, glowing skin. I need glowing skin!!! It’s too hot to hide my rashy mug with foundation.
Since I can’t afford to do the actual Ritual Cleanse I fully intend to create my own.
Yesterday I went grocery store. The main objective of the trip was to get fruit to juice. I purchased mango, watermelon, blackberries, bananas, and even $9 flax seed oil! I start the detox tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Now give up the goods. Have you tried a juice fast or detox? Detoxes get a lot of negative press but many swear by them. I’ve read that they aid in digestion, help to reset your internal clock, and help to rid your body of toxins. I’ve attempted detoxes in the past, but haven’t been successful. I want to chew, damn it. I guess I’ll have to stick to gum for that purpose, because this itchy red skin has got to go! So fess up. Have you or will you do a detox?
